Remote Hands
The term “Remote Hands” is deemed as any intervention with customers’ kit by data centre staff when
specifically requested to by the customer, where the customers’ instructions are followed exactly and
results relayed back. The instructions and their outcomes are the responsibility of the customer.
We like to think we can go one better...
By utilising staff which are trained and experience professionals in System Administration, Network
Administration, Storage Administration and Hardware maintenance – we go beyond the norm of simply
pressing buttons and notifying customers of alarms, we can assist in diagnosing problems and implementing
solutions.
With a combined pool of over 50 years IT knowledge, the management team at the Sheffield Data Centre
are able to diagnose and fix a variety of hardware, Operating System, and network problems on behalf of
our customers. In fact some customers have come to rely on us more than their local IT support staff!
Whilst not every problem has an immediate solution, we’re able to work with customers fixing faults,
upgrading hardware, server OS patching, and even designing new solutions.
Our staff hold a variety of Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Citrix, HP, and CompTIA accreditations.
Colocation Remote Hands
Each colocation customer gets 15 minutes free Remote Hands time per day, ideal if you need a quick
reboot or health check performing.
Extra Remote Hands or support time is available during business hours (9am – 6pm) at £30 per hour. Out
of Hours (OoH) time is charged at £60 per hour subject to minimum one hour and £60 callout.
